Service overview

The feasibility study is the critical bridge between an LPG business concept and an executable facility. Simei Energy reviews the project country, LPG source and composition, target market, distribution radius, seasonal demand, transport mode and regulatory environment. These inputs are aligned with the owner’s investment and operating objectives to establish a practical relationship between daily receipt, daily dispatch, storage days and emergency inventory. Material balance and turnover analysis are then used to define the preliminary number and size of spherical or horizontal pressure vessels, total storage capacity and possible development phases, avoiding both operational shortage and unnecessary capital tied up in oversized storage.

Key activities

Planning also addresses tanker routes, loading and unloading positions, queue capacity, pump and compressor duty, fire access, separation distances, control-room location, utilities and future expansion. Alternative layouts and process concepts are compared against land use, transfer efficiency, equipment redundancy, energy demand, schedule and safety risk. Survey, geotechnical, environmental and permitting activities are identified early. Where supply or demand is uncertain, normal, peak and interruption scenarios are tested so that storage and transfer capacity remain resilient under realistic operating conditions.

Deliverables and value

Typical outputs include the project design basis, capacity calculation, preliminary material balance, major-equipment list, plot-plan recommendation, process description, investment boundary, implementation phases and key-risk register. Together they create one reference for investment approval, land selection, financing, statutory permits and the next stage of engineering. Strong early planning reduces redesign and field change, confirms safety and logistics before procurement, and preserves sensible interfaces for future tanks, additional loading bays or new LPG supply sources.
