Emergency isolation and pressure relief limit the quantity and pressure of LPG released during equipment failure, fire exposure or operating error. The protection philosophy divides the facility into isolatable sections and identifies every credible blocked-in, thermal, process and fire case. Remote-operated valves, excess-flow devices and relief systems are selected according to consequence, response time and safe disposal route.

Engineering delivery
Engineering develops isolation boundaries, valve fail positions, closure times, depressurization or vent routing and relief-load calculations. Relief valves, thermal relief, knock-out or disposal connections and ESD actions are coordinated through hazard review and cause-and-effect analysis. Testing verifies valve stroke, loss-of-power response, alarm and trip signals, relief certification, bypass control and restoration after shutdown. Any discharge location is checked for dispersion, ignition and personnel exposure.

Deliverables and project value
Deliverables include relief calculations, valve schedules, ESD philosophy, cause-and-effect, discharge-system drawings and proof-test procedures. A clear isolation and relief strategy prevents local failure from escalating across the terminal and protects vessels and piping against overpressure. Documented test intervals help maintain protection throughout the asset life.
