Firewater and foam systems protect tanks, transfer equipment and loading areas against credible terminal fire scenarios. The design basis is developed from stored products, tank diameters, separation, containment, drainage, available water sources and the capability of local emergency services. Applicable criteria such as NFPA 11, NFPA 15 and NFPA 20 are coordinated with authority and insurer requirements.

Engineering delivery
Fire hydraulic analysis establishes simultaneous demand, required duration, pump duty, storage volume, ring-main diameter and pressure at hydrants, monitors, cooling rings and foam application points. The engineering package defines pump redundancy, diesel or electric drivers, foam concentrate, proportioning, deluge controls, sectional isolation and test connections. Flow tests, pump performance, foam-system checks, valve line-up, alarms and emergency operating drills are completed before handover.

Deliverables and project value
The owner receives fire scenarios, hydraulic calculations, equipment schedules, layouts, cause-and-effect, testing procedures and emergency guidance. A balanced system delivers water and foam where required without excessive complexity or hidden hydraulic shortfalls. Sectionalized networks and accessible test points support routine inspection, operator training and future terminal expansion.
