Service focus
Lightning, static and spill protection manage three connected sources of terminal risk: ignition, uncontrolled product release and contaminated runoff. The design considers regional lightning exposure, soil resistivity, transfer operations, floating or fixed roof tanks, conductive continuity, bund capacity and the destination of clean and oily drainage. Measures are coordinated so that one protection system does not undermine another.

Engineering delivery
Engineering defines lightning interception and down conductors, earthing grids, bonding across tanks, piping and loading equipment, static-control points and verification methods. Spill control covers tank bunds, curbs, graded paving, isolation valves, collection sumps and oil-water separation. Design checks address containment volume, rainfall allowance, emergency access and safe removal of recovered product. Testing includes earth resistance, continuity, drainage function and containment inspection.

Deliverables and project value
Deliverables include lightning-risk assessment, earthing and bonding drawings, containment calculations, drainage philosophy, inspection schedules and emergency procedures. Integrated protection reduces ignition probability and limits the spread and environmental impact of a release. Clear drainage segregation and testable bonding points also make routine compliance checks more efficient.
